Captain’s March Blog
Hi All, It’s April already! I can’t believe I am 6 months into my Captaincy.
March started on St. David’s Day with the first of Four Nation’s contests. Wales were the host for the day Their team Captain did a brilliant job on the day. He put flags around the club house and the course and made some Welsh cakes for us all.
After the match we all enjoyed a traditional Welsh meal. The results can be found on the club house notice board.
Also on this day was our ever increasingly popular quiz night. This was well supported with the highest number of teams entered so far. Jeoff and his team won the quiz and for the first time on winning Play your Cards Right they finally went home with the hamper. Well done Jeoff and his team.
Unfortunately the weather played a significant part in the rest of the month with the course closed like many others. The driving range was where we have all ended up. Thank goodness for the toptracer !
Luckily the weather improved for a couple of days allowing us to get the second Four Nations played on the 17th March, St Patrick Day. Again the Captain did a great job with flags around the course and after the match we had a traditional Irish meal made by Ray.
26th March saw the clocks go forward so we can look forward to lighter evenings.
At the end of March was the annual Saturday/Sunday Boys at High Post Golf Club. What a wonderful day despite the weather forecast. The rain stayed off for a big part of the day. All came back to the club after and had a tasty carvery laid on by Ray and his team. I am not going to give you the result because I am a Saturday boy. What a way to finish March. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon Andy
