Andy’s Captain’s Blog 2023
Captain’s March Blog
The first started with a Bank holiday, and it was a week of holidays with the King’s coronation on 6th May.
On the 7th we held a yellow ball competition and with only 2 teams coming back with their yellow ball it proved the course was playing very difficult (that’s my excuse anyway).
On the 20th it was the Hampshire Sevens Knock-Out match against Weybrook. It was a close match between the individual matches. I would like to thank all players, who gave their all to win, but Weybrook brought a very strong team, and Bishopswood lost by 4 matches to 3. It was a brilliant effort by our team.
On the 23rd the Ladies held their coffee morning. This was so well attended. Lesley and her helpers did Bishopswood proud.
The 28th saw the Captain’s Shield being played. It was a very good turnout of last year’s competition winners and Past Captains and with the weather improving, the course was looking good and playing fantastically, so there. was some good scoring. Winning on the day was Steve Newall with net 64 and close in 2nd place was Helen Johnston with 65, with reliable Mike Davies in 3rd place with 68.
Well done all.
The month ended as it had begun with a Bank Holiday on the 29th.
That is all from me for now.
